Week at a glance

Welcome to our first post on the classroom blog! This is where I will be posting updates on important dates and what we will be doing in the classroom each week.

Week of September 14 - 18

Daily

  • Please send your child to school each day with a full water bottle, several clean masks, and their agenda.

Monday

  • Terry Fox - This week marks the beginning of our Terry Fox Campaign. This campaign is especially meaningful for our school family this year as we are supporting two members of our staff, Broc Higginson and Suzie Chambers, in their fight against cancer. We will be engaging in various Terry Fox activities as a class each day over the next 2 weeks and asking the kids to bring "toonies for Terry" as a donation. All donations are for the Terry Fox Foundation. Thank you for anything you can give!
  • Something yellow - As we go through our colour booklets that you have likely seen in their home reading duo-tangs, I will be asking the kids to bring "quelque chose jaune" ("something yellow") to share with their classmates in a show-and-tell fashion. They will be presenting their objects on Thursday so please send them to school with something yellow any time this week prior to that day.

Thursday

  • Presenting our yellow objects!

Upcoming

  • September 24 - Terry Fox Walk
  • September 30 - Orange Shirt Day - please send your child to school wearing an orange shirt in remembrance of residential schools and support of reconciliation. Click on the following link to learn more about why we do Orange Shirt Day: www.orangeshirtday.org
